Kaduna Attack: USAID Nigeria Mourns Loss Of NGO Workers

Following the attack on Friday, April 19 in Kaduna by gunmen which claimed many lives. USAID/Nigeria mourns two of his partners in the attack.

Below is what USAID/Nigeria wrote on its Facebook page:

“With great sorrow USAID/Nigeria pays tribute to two members of its family of implementing partners who lost their lives on April 19 when gunmen stormed the Kadjura Castle resort in Kaduna. Ms. Faye Mooney, a Mercy Corps team member in Nigeria and British national, and Mathew Oguche, a Nigerian training assistant with the International NGO Safety Organization (INSO) both died in the attack. In a statement, Mercy Corps said Ms. Mooney was a “dedicated and passionate communications and learning specialist who devoted her time to making a difference in Nigeria.” Mr. Oguche, a training assistant with INSO Nigeria “was a kind, intelligent and outward looking young man with a passion for learning and a deep commitment to helping others,” INSO said in a statement. Our thoughts are with their families, loved ones and colleagues at this difficult time.”
